We refer to your information request received 23 January 2024. A copy of your request is set 
out below: 
 
Could you please provide material relating to any advice, motions or other correspondence within the 
ORC or with Port Otago or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, relating to trade with the UN-
declared non-self governing territory of Western Sahara and/or the Occupied Palestinian Territories, 
over the last 12 months to date. 
 
An IT search of all emails between the Otago Regional Council and the Port of Otago for the 
12 month period 23 January 2023 to 23 January 2024 has been conducted. No emails relating 
to the subject of “UN-declared non-self governing territory of Western Sahara and/or  the 
Occupied Palestinian Territories” have been identified.  
 
As such your request is refused under section 17(g)  of the Local Government Of icial 
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) as the information requested is not held.
