Thank you for your email to Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki),
which was received on 17 January 2023, requesting information on whether Oranga
Tamariki has licenses for generative AI or large language models. Your request has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
You have requested:
Does the Ministry have any active Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses?
If so, how many, and what is the total cost of this licensing?
If not, does the Ministry license any competing generative artifical intelligence (Gen
AI) or large language model (LLM) services?
I can confirm Oranga Tamariki does not hold any licenses for Copilot for Microsoft 365 or
for any other competing GenAI or LLM services. As such, your request is refused under
section 18(e) of the Act, on the grounds that the information does not exist.
