Thank you for your email of 13 January 2024 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities requesting 
the following information under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) 
 
“I would like to know the reasons behind the ending of the Housing Corporation home loan 
scheme that existed prior to 1992.” 
 
Kāinga Ora has a range of Home Ownership products available. Our records team looked into our 
past schemes but were unable to locate information on the Housing Corporation Home loan Scheme 
that existed prior to 1992. As the document you requested does not exist, your request is therefore 
declined under section 18(e) of the Act, that “the document alleged to contain the information 
requested does not exist”.
