OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 24.02 
I refer to the Official Information Act request dated 3 January 2024 for information relating to LAWS and LLAW 
paper stats. You have specifical y requested: 
Would you be able to provide for the fol owing courses in 2022 and 2023: 
•  (1) every 300-level LAWS or LLAW paper, 
•  (2) the five 200-level LAWS papers (LAWS202-LAWS206), 
•  (3) the three 400-level Honours papers (LAWS410, LAWS420 and LAWS430) 
The following data: 
•  (1) The number of students who completed the paper, 
•  (2) The grade distribution for students' final scores (broken down by final marks after rounding, e.g 
90/100, 86/100), and 
•  (3) The mean and median final marks for the paper. 
  Please find attached your requested information. Note that under grade distribution, the individual grades have 
been included, as per the suggested examples in the request. 
 
Please note that where there are five or less students in a particular category, the actual number is not 
provided, rather a range of less than or equal to five (≤5). For one course, LAWS348-s1 in 2022, the individual 
grades have been removed, as these would reveal the number of students. This is to protect the individual’s 
privacy under s 9(2)(a) of the Act. It is in the public interest that individuals are not identifiable when providing 
information about course numbers and grades. Moreover, as there’s no assessment for LAWS420, that part of 
the request is refused under OIA s 18(e) as the information does not exist. 
  You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
