Request under the Official Information Act 1982 – correspondence with Cabinet Ministers 
Thank you for your email of 1 January 2024, requesting the fol owing information from Te Pūkenga – 
New Zealand Institute of Skil s and Technology (Te Pūkenga): 
… any correspondence via Te Pūkenga email systems between Chief of Staff - Ziena Jalil and any 
Cabinet Ministers (of the previous Labour government or the current National-led government) 
This letter provides a formal decision on your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
Email search and interpretation 
We have interpreted your request to be for any email correspondence between Te Pūkenga Chief of 
Staff and any cabinet minister, from the time of her appointment (6 March 2023) to the time of your 
request. 
An email search of the Chief of Staff’s Te Pūkenga email address during this period was undertaken 
to see whether any emails were within the scope of your request. 
The decision 
We can confirm that there were no such emails.  Therefore,  we  must refuse your request under 
section 18(e) of the OIA as the information requested does not exist. 
You have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the OIA if you are
