I refer to your information request dated 24 December 2023 made under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act). You requested: 
 
“Is it possible to know the GPAs of: 
A)  Psychology (both BA and BS) graduates; and 
B)  BA Politics in 2023 and 2022? 
C)  Can you provide the mean GPAs for both as well?” 
 
We note we contacted you 12 January 2024 to clarify your request. Your response of 12 January 2024 
confirmed that you were interested in receiving the cumulative GPAs of all graduates in 2022 and 
2023 for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) majoring in Psychology, Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in 
Psychology, and the BA majoring in Politics.  
 
Subject to the following comments, please see attached the information you have requested. Please 
note that there are two pages in the attached spreadsheet – one for each year. 
 
•  The data is correct as at 7 February 2024. 
 
•  As Politics and Psychology majors can be taken towards a number of undergraduate degree 
programmes, we have provided two sets of data per major per year – one for all finalists 
regardless of undergraduate degree programme, and one for all finalists enrolled in the 
programmes specified in your request (i.e., BA for Politics, BA and BSc for Psychology). 
 
o  Politics: the tables for finalists enrolled in any undergraduate degree programme 
include finalists enrolled in the BA, Bachelor of Arts and Commerce (BACom), Bachelor 
of Arts and Science (BASc), and the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSc). 
 
o  Psychology: the tables for finalists enrolled in any undergraduate degree programme 
include finalists enrolled in the BAppSc, BA, BACom, BASc, Bachelor of Commerce and 
Science (BComSc) and BSc. 
 
•  The data contains the cumulative GPAs of all 2022 and 2023 undergraduate Psychology and 
Politics major finalists across all levels of study as at 7 February 2024. Cumulative GPA 
calculations include student results from all papers at all year levels (i.e., are not just limited to 
papers taken for the Politics or Psychology majors). 
 
•  “Finalists” are individuals who are eligible to graduate – the data may include students who 
chose to defer their graduation.
