Thank you for your email of 9 December 2023, to Fire and Emergency New Zealand, requesting a 
copy of the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
•  Under the provisions of the Official Information Act, I request a copy of any reports or other 
written advice that resulted from the Operational Review for the Jan 6th 2020 Tangoio fire 
as advised to the Select Committee. 
 
I can advise that the only report or written advice that has resulted from the Tangoio fire 
Operational Review is the Tangoio fire Operational Report. This report has not yet been finalised, 
as there is still further work to be done to prepare it for publication (quality assurance). However, 
we expect that it wil  be published on our website no later than 29 February 2024. Therefore, your 
request is being refused pursuant to 18(d) of the OIA, as the information requested is or will soon 
be publicly available. 
 
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(3) of the OIA, to request an investigation 
and review of Fire and Emergency’s decision to refuse information by the Ombudsman.
