Thank you for your email
of 4 December 2023 requesting the fol owing information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
…a copy of the 'NZTA "Our Name" presentation…
To provide context, the presentation referenced in the 1News media article was an update provided to
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) staff regarding the new Government, its priorities and
commitments. The ‘Our Name’ segment was only one aspect discussed during the presentation.
In accordance with your request, the following document falls within the scope and is enclosed:
• Attachment 1 – 1 December 2023 – People leader update
The ‘Our Name’ section is located on page 8 of the attached document.
To provide context to the first bullet located on this slide, whilst no formal directive has been received,
the Minister requested NZTA plan to give effect to the National and New Zealand First Coalition
Agreement. Accordingly, NZTA has taken a staged approach to the name changes, with the first
phase including name changes in templates and briefings. Further changes, such as rebranding
official websites etc, are awaiting all-of-government guidance to ful y understand the extent of the
requirements.
As noted in our acknowledgement email of 5 December 2023, the information requested contains
names of NZTA staff. As we have not received a response as to whether the inclusion of names is
required, we have deemed these to be out of scope of your request.
In line with NZTA policy, this response wil soon be published on our website, with personal
information removed.
