Thank you for your email on 27 November 2023, asking for the following under the Of icial
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“I would like to know what policy discussions have occurred since March 2023 with regard
to emergency admissions to Te Kuiti hospital, and how any such policy has been advise to
communities and other health agencies.
Where there may be a policy for declining emergency patients, what are the reasons for
that policy and how has that been balanced with patient needs and affects on the
workloads of other health facilities?”
Response
There have been no policy discussions since March 2023 with regard to emergency admissions to
Te Kuti Hospital. There is also no policy in place for declining emergency patients. As such, your
request for this information is refused under section 18(e) of the Act as this information does not
exist.
