Thank you for your email of 21 November 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
1) The number of active registrations for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Sponsorship under the Refugee Family
Support Category currently held by INZ but not yet invited to apply; and
2) The number of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Invitations to Apply for Residence issued by INZ for the financial
years ending June 2021, June 2022, and June 2023.
Our Response
Question 1. The number of active registrations for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Sponsorship under the Refugee Family
Support Category currently held by INZ but not yet invited to apply.
• Tier one – 144 registrations representing 609 persons.
• Tier two – 954 registrations representing 4,207 persons.
Question 2. The number of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Invitations to Apply for Residence issued by INZ for the
financial years ending June 2021, June 2022, and June 2023.
