Dear Mr Luke
Official Information request and response
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act (“OIA”) dated 20th November 2023.
You have requested:
I noted you have a Retirement Commission Māori Advisory Rōpū
1. How did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public
nominations most recently, e.g. govt.jobs website.
2. How many applications you have received from the public and how many you have received
from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc.
3. Can you please supply the term of appointment and member's pay rate
4. Name of current members
Our response to your OIA request is as follows:
The rōpū has not been established yet. We are completing a new policy paper looking at NZ Super in
general and how it relates to Māori in particular. This will be published in the next few weeks and I
wil consider in the new year how best to engage with Māori on policy matters.
You have the right to refer this response to the Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with it. More
information on how to do this is
here. Te Ara Ahunga Ora proactively releases information in
accordance with the Government’s commitment to the Open Government Partnership National
Action Plan. This includes publishing responses to requests for information under the OIA. Please note
that this response (with your name removed) wil be published on the Te Ara Ahunga Ora website
shortly and wil remain on our website for 12 months.
Thank you for your interest in our work.
Yours sincerely
Jane Wrightson
