INFORMATION REQUEST – Communications to incoming Ministers
We write in response to your request for information dated 19 November 2023 in which you
requested the following information:
any letters or communications prepared (even in draft form) by the
commissioners or TCC to be sent to any incoming ministers of the new
government
We have considered your request in accordance with the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“
LGOIMA”) and respond as follows:
The decision on the timing of the public release of any briefing papers for incoming
Ministers, including any correspondence relating to the briefing papers, will be made
in conjunction with the responsible Ministers.
When the documents are released, they will be made available on the Council’s
website page (link below), which includes the Commission’s quarterly reports to the
Minister of Local Government and other documents.

Therefore, this request is refused under section 17(d) of LGOIMA
that the information
requested is or will soon be publicly available.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
