Official Information Act 1982 request: COVID-19 health and safety
Thank you for your email of 11 November 2023, to the Ministry of Justice (the Ministry),
requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), information relating to COVID-
19 health and safety. Specifically, you requested:
1. What budget was allocated for Covid 19 health and safety activities at Ministry of
justice for the 2021/2022 financial years? For example, Covid advisors, Covid risk
specialist roles, website info pages etc
2. What designations did the Ministry of Justice receive under section 191 of the
Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 to act as a regulator for health and safety
matters?
In response to your first question, there was no budget specifically allocated for COVID-19
health and safety activities at the Ministry for the 2021/22 financial year. Any expenditure
that was incurred on COVID-19 health and safety activities was funded out of existing
operational budgets.
In response to your second question, I can advise that the Ministry has no designations
under section 191 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
If you require any further information, please contact Media & Social Media Manager Joe
Locke at
[email address].
