Official Information Act request seeking a  list of current Ministerial Advisory 
Committees 
 
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 13 November 
2023. You requested: 
 
a list of all the current Ministerial Advisory Committees 
 
DPMC does not hold a central list of all Ministerial Advisory Committees (MACs). Not all 
MACs are established following consideration by Cabinet. Accordingly, I refuse your request 
under section 18(g) of the Act, on the grounds that that the information requested is not held 
by the department, and I have no reason for believing that it is held by, or connected more 
closely with the functions of, another department.  
While we are unable to provide a list of all the current Ministerial Advisory Commit ees, we 
have collated information that we do hold that is in scope of your request. Please see the 
below table which lists groups with the words “Ministerial Advisory” in their title that have 
been considered by Cabinet since August 2015, where that group has not subsequently 
been disestablished according to publicly available information. (Please note that there may 
be some additional groups that are in substance a Ministerial Advisory Commit ee but do not 
have the words “Ministerial Advisory” in the title or that were established prior to August 
2015. In those cases, they wil  not have been identified by our search.)
