Thank you for your Official Information Act request received on 11 October 2023. You
requested:
…I have made a similar request reference number OIA2017/18-0589.
Can you please provide an update information on this if anything
changed and can you also let me know the date/time that the shortlist
has been decided for the past 5 year.
The Honours process remains the same as that set out in our response to your initial
request on 31 May 2018. However, since 2020, correspondence to proposed recipients
as to whether they wish to accept a proposed honours appointment or award has been
sent by the Clerk of the Executive Council on behalf of the Governor-General, rather than
by the Official Secretary of Government House.
In relation to your second question, the date of the last meeting of the Cabinet
Appointments and Honours Committee for each list – King’s Birthday (KB) and New Year
(NY) – for the last five years is set out below:
