Thank you for your email of 3 October 2022 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
I am requesting access too all emails sent by Hyden Toonen to MBIE (e.g. Alison McDonald) in
2023 in relation to the Language Assistance Services Programme, particularly emails involving
Carolina Cannard and her fair rates campaign
I am writing to advise you that MBIE has decided to extend the period of time available to make a
decision on your request under section 15A of the Act, as the request necessitates a search through a
large quantity of information and futher consultation is required to make a decision on your request.
As such, a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. MBIE will notify you
of a decision on your request no later than 28 November 2023.
