consideration by the MoE or relevant Minister.

you have used to publicly advertise the position, how many application you have received
and when the vacancy been closed as well.
3. Also, I would like to know if you have any future opening in 2024. e.g. the position that will
call for nomination in the year of 2024.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) and has been
numbered for clarity.
We have interpreted your request to relate only to Ministerial appointments managed by the
Ministry.
In response to parts 1 and 3 of your request, please find attached the disaggregated information as
Appendix A. The size of the boards, the number of current vacancies (if any), and the terms of
appointment that are due to end in 2024 are set out in
Appendix A. These are for appointments
that are made by the Minister of Education or Associate Ministers of Education, supported by the
Ministry.
We have not provided any information relating to the advertising of vacancies, as there are no
appointment processes currently under consideration by the Minister of Education, or Associate
Ministers under delegation, for appointments managed by the Ministry for the bodies listed in
Appendix A.
Please find attached
Appendix B in response to part 2 of your request. In addition to the

There are a number of roles with terms of appointment ending in 2024. The Minister of Education,
or Associate Ministers under delegation, will determine whether to fill these roles by appointment,
or reappointment, nearer the time. Some boards have vacant positions because the size of their
board is a range, rather than a fixed number. Appointing Ministers may choose to appoint to these
vacancies to increase the size of the board or create vacancies to reduce a board’s size at any
time.
Please note, we may publish this response on our website after five working days. Your name and
contact details will be removed.
Thank you again for your email. You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to review my decision
on your request, in accordance with section 28 of the Act. You can do this by writing to
[email address] or to Office of the Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington 6143.
