OIA: 1318104 – Information regarding satellite teaching spaces
Thank you for your email of 19 September 2023 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry)
requesting the following information:
I refer to the following article published on stuff.co.nz on 16/9/2023

In the article, Sean Teddy, Education Ministry leader of operations and integration says
'Locations for six of the eight teaching spaces have now been approved and planning and
design is under way.'
Could you please provide me with the school names and locations of these 6 new teaching
spaces. (both satellite host and base school)
In addition, if available could you advise the geographical area being looked at for the
remaining 2 teaching spaces.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
Two teaching spaces are planned for Taita College, and wil be completed as part of the college’s
redevelopment, two will be located at Te Kura o Hau Karetu, and are due to be completed in the
first half of 2024, and two are operational at Pomare School, where existing spaces are being
reconfigured and refurbished. All of these schools are located in the Wellington region.
The Ministry has not confirmed a suitable site for the remaining two teaching spaces.
