Your request for Official information, reference: HNZ00031173

Thank you for your email on 10 October 2023, asking for the following which has been
considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):

I am stil  waiting on a complete answer. My question was not how many terminated
staff had reentered the workforce. My question was :

how many of these health professionals have you hired back?

So that would be back to their previous positions from which you terminated them.

As advised in our previous response to you (ref: HNZ00029446), we are unable to identify
people who have left Te Whatu Ora and returned, only those employees who have renewed
their annual practising certificates; however, they could be working for any employer.

In relation to health professionals we have hired back, we do not hold this data centrally and
in order to provide you with the requested information would require us to go out to the
regions and get them to manually locate, pull and assess each individual file. The collation
required for this request is not feasible. Te Whatu Ora would need to divert personnel from
their core duties and allocate extra time to complete this task. The diversion of these
resources would impair our ability to continue standard operations. As such, your request is
refused under section 18(f) of the Act, as it requires substantial collation.

We have considered whether Te Whatu Ora would be able to respond to your requests
given extra time or the ability to charge for the information requested. We have concluded
that, in either case, our ability to undertake our work would stil  be prejudiced.

How to get in touch

If you have any questions, you can contact us at [email address].

If you are not happy with this response, you have the right to make a complaint to the
