Request for information 
 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 28 August 2023. You 
asked for information regarding an incident in which Hon Marama Davidson and a 
motorcycle were involved in. 
 
My response to each part of your request can be found below. 
  1.  Is the investigation stil ongoing? 
4.  When is the investigation due to be completed, if it hasn’t been already? 
The investigation has been completed. 
2.  Given the incident involved a govt Minister, was this case given any priority, if not 
why not? 
The incident was investigated in line with local investigation protocols and case 
prioritisation processes. 
3.  How many Police officers are working on the investigation? Or worked on the 
investigation if it has been completed? 
The investigation was conducted almost entirely by one officer. Assistance was provided 
from other members of their workgroup in completing some investigative tasks when they 
were unavailable, which included a Senior Constable, Sergeant and a Detective Senior 
Sergeant. 
5.  Has footage from council cameras and the surrounding area been viewed? 
Camera footage from a number of sources was reviewed during the course of the 
investigation. 
6.  Has Marama Davidson been interviewed, if so when? 
Yes, Hon Marama Davidson was interviewed on 14 April 2023. 
7.  Was Marama Davidson taking a “selfie” at the time of the incident? 
No. 
8.  When did Marama Davidson lodge her complaint? 
The initial complaint was taken from Hon Marama Davidson at the scene, shortly after the 
incident occurred.
