Universities - COVID Case Reporting Changes

We acknowledge the amazing work you are doing in these complicated times.
We appreciate your assistance with reporting daily case numbers to the Minister and are writing
to you briefly today to communicate a change to this reporting.
We would like to request – with effect tomorrow (12 March 2022) that you please report weekly
to the 9(2)(g)(ii)

1) The total number of new positive cases reported in the last 7 days on campus
2) The total number of new positive cases in the last 7 days in tertiary accommodation – as a
subset of the number above.
We ask that your weekly report is sent to us by Thursday at 2pm and will include any new cases
that were reported since your last report submission.
We are sending this message as we have you down as our main contact person for covid-related
matters. We are also sending this to the secondary contact you have provided us with. We do
know contact details can change, so ask that you please keep the TEC SPOC team informed of
any changes.
And finally, a tertiary bulletin is scheduled to go out shortly with some messaging around the
change to the SPOC role, including that we will be reducing our hours of availability. These
changes acknowledge the amazing work you are doing and the drop in the number of queries
coming through to our team under phase 3 of our omicron response. We thank you for all of the
work you're doing to support our response and want to reiterate that we are here to help when
needed. As a reminder, please keep a close watch for these bulletins.
