I refer to your information request dated 18 August 2023 made under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act). You have requested the following information: 
 
•  “the current GPA of all students who study a LLB, Bcom with a major in Finance, updated with 
Semester 1 results. This need not exclude students who are studying a double major or have an 
additional minor for their Bcom. Moreover, please only provide the GPA of those students who 
are enrolled or have been enrolled in a 300 or 400 level law paper. This request relates to 
students who are currently enrolled at the University of Otago.” 
 
Subject to the following comments, please see attached the information you have requested.  
 
•  This cumulative GPA data is correct as of 23 August 2023 and has been calculated for all paper 
results to date. 
 
•  Only students concurrently enrolled in both a LLB (including Honours) and a BCom majoring in 
Finance in 2023 and who are also enrolled in one or more 300 or 400-level LAWS papers are 
included in the data.
