Thank you for your email of 24 September 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
1. What date applications are currently (Date you reply this request) being allocated to an Immigration
Officer?
2. How many applications (daily numbers if possible or weekly will be fine) were received between July
2023 and 30 August 2023.
On 25 September 2023, we emailed you seeking to clarify the visa category you were referring to in your
request. On the same date, you confirmed that you were referring to the Partner of a New Zealander Resident
Visa category.
Our Response
Question 1: What date applications are currently (Date you reply this request) being allocated to an
Immigration Officer?
As at 19 October 2023, the most recent
Partner of an Expatriate Resident Visa application allocated to an
immigration officer for assessment was submitted on 30 June 2023, and the most recent
Partner of a New
Zealand Citizen or Resident V
isa application allocated to an immigration officer for assessment was submitted
on 16 June 2023.
Question 2: How many applications (daily numbers if possible or weekly will be fine) were received between
July 2023 and 30 August 2023.
Please refer to the appendix attached to this letter for the information requested. Please note that the data is
for the period between 1 July 2023 and 31 August 2023.
