OFFICIAL  INFORMATION  ACT  1982  (OIA)  –  REQUEST  FOR  INFORMATION  -
CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL) 
1.  We write further to our email of 16 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA 
request (the Request) of 15 August 2023 to CIAL seeking the following information: 
Request - Received 15 August 2023 – Correspondence with  
“Could I please be sent all correspondence, briefings, notes and meetings dates with 
Treasury regarding Central Otago Airport?” 
 
2.  This letter is to advise you that CIAL is respectfully extending the 20 working days 
available to respond to your Request, as allowed under section 15A of the OIA. We 
will  require  an  additional 10  working  days  from  when  our  response  to  you  would 
have  been  due  (12  September  2023).  Your  Request  covers  a  great  deal  of 
correspondence which various teams will need to go through and extract internally; 
this will take some time. Therefore, we will send you a response by 26 September 
2023.  
3.  This deadline is being extended because consultations necessary to make a decision 
on your Request cannot be reasonably made within the original time limit, as allowed 
for by section 15A(1)(b).  
4.  You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the 
decisions contained in this letter.  Information about how to contact the Ombudsman 
or make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone
