CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL)

We write further to our email of 14 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA
request of 13 August 2023 seeking information (if held by CIAL) in relation to the
proposed Central Otago airport project:
Request : Received 13 August – Central Otago Airport and CAA & Airways NZ
This information request is in relation to the Central Otago Airport. Please supply me
with all emails, file notes, letters, meeting notes, meeting dates and correspondence
with CAA and Airways NZ since 1 January 2020.
2. The Project is currently in the validation and planning phase. To ensure that the
requirements to enable the certification of an aerodrome under the Civil Aviation Act
1990 and ICAO standards and recommended practices will be met, CIAL has
engaged the services of experts to complete detailed technical investigations and
assessments of aeronautical and environmental feasibility. No regulatory approvals
or certifications have been sought or will be during this phase. Accordingly no such
meetings have been held with CAA and Airways.
3. CIAL has engaged the services of Aeropath Ltd, a subsidiary of Airways New Zealand,
and New Zealand's specialist provider of aeronautical information management and
