Dear Hana

Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA)
Copy of weed treatment schedule

Thank  you  for  your  email  which  we  received  on  10  August  2023  for  information  relating  to
weed treatment schedules in the Whangapararoa Peninsula.

The specific details of your request and our response are below;

Would you please supply a copy of the treatment schedules for all weed and
vegetation treatment on the road corridor in the Whangapararoa Peninsula from
January 1st 2023 to current date (11 August 2023). This should include:

1. The name of the street/road treated.

2. The date when the street/road treated.

Due to the way the data is recorded we are unable to produce only the Whangapararoa
Peninsula, instead please find attached roads sprayed in the Hibiscus and Bays Local
Board area between 1 January 2023 and 31st July 2023.

Information for the week of 1st -11th August is not currently held by Auckland Council.

3. What the street/road was treated with - e.g. glyphosate/metsulfuran/steam/hot
water/mechanical etc

4. What the treatment was for - eg all kerb and channel control or pest plant (spot
spraying etc).

The streets listed in the attached schedules are sprayed with a glyphosate formulation that
has no POEA (polyoxyethylene amine) added to control pest weeds in the kerb and channel.

Auckland Council also manage a no-spray register, where there may be specific berms on
the streets in the attached schedules that are registered to not be sprayed. In these
instances, no spraying of any chemical takes place. Weeds in the kerb and channel are
controlled in a no spray zone with hot water or mechanical means (i.e. hand pulling).
