Treasury does not hold other agencies data on rent, therefore the response is just for
Treasury. The Treasury’s financial system can only provide information for the previous
seven years. The table below provides the data based on each financial year.

Total number of leases broken early and which agency
There were no leases broken early.
Total settlement spent on breaking the lease early As no leases had been broken, therefore no settlements have been paid out due to
breaking an early lease.
Total amount spent on litigation associated with each lease dispute
There has been no amount spent on litigation as Treasury has had no disputes with
landlords.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section
9(1) of the OIA.
