Thank you for your request, received on 04 August 2023, for the following information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Previous OIA requests to Unitec indicated that there was no consultation between Unitec and the
staff, students or industry association groups in deciding to close and teach out the Osteopathy
programme; at the time, the only programme graduating students to register with the Osteopathic
Council of New Zealand.
This request is for any correspondence between Unitec New Zealand and TEC or reports generated by
TEC regarding the closure of the programme, the proposal transfer of the programme to AUT, and
consultation correspondence between TEC and relevant osteopathy industry groups.
I regret that I am not able to provide you with the information you have requested as the Tertiary
Education Commission does not hold any correspondence in relation to your request.
We are therefore declining this request under section 18(e) – the information is not held. We are
satisfied that we have made reasonable efforts to locate the requested information.
