Request for information: AOH1996 availability in NZ
Thank you for your request, transferred to Pharmac on 24 August 2023 under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (OIA) for information relating to AOH1996. You requested:
… New Zealand study’s and research for this amazing new pil  that can be available 
soon Aoh 1996 that wil  stop over 50 types of cancer and when it becomes available 
wil  we get funding for it.
As you may be aware, Pharmac is the government agency that determines which 
pharmaceuticals and medical devices wil  be publicly funded. Medsafe is the government 
agency responsible for the regulation of medicines in New Zealand. Before a medicine is 
funded by Pharmac, it needs to be evaluated and approved by Medsafe. 
We can confirm that Pharmac has not received any applications for funding of AOH1996, 
which we believe is in the early investigational stage of development.  
Pharmac is unable to confirm when or if decisions about funding applications wil  be made. 
This is because many factors can influence funding choices, such as health need, health 
benefit, suitability, available funding, negotiations with suppliers, new research, and other 
funding applications. However, you can fol ow the progress of funding applications via
