By email Tēnā koe Chris,
Official Information Act request. I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) dated
1 August where you requested:
1. Sun hours between 1990 and 2023 by month and region with anomaly
months highlighted.
This part of the request has been transferred to NIWA under s 14 of the Official
Information Act
2. Funding information between 1990 and 2023.
In answering this question, we have taken a narrow interpretation of ‘funding’
which is consistent with the interpretation across the public sector, namely the
provision of funds from central government to agencies outside of commercial
arrangements.
We can confirm MetService have not received any payments under this
mechanism. MetService is a state-owned enterprise and is required to meet
commercial requirements.
3. Does MetService uses
Access in its weather forecasting.
No.
