On 26 July 2023, in your reply to our email of the same date, you confirmed that the data requested on

Please find attached the requested information. The file contains information identified from a search of
the companies register and the New Zealand Business Number Register (NZBN) on 10 August 2023 using
the Business Industry Classification (BIC) codes you provided on 25 July 2023.
The caveats and limitations of the information are set out below.
1.
Only registered companies, partnerships and sole traders which have provided their BIC code are
included in the file. Where an entity elects to provide a BIC code, they select the code that best
describes the entity’s business.
2.
Entities which have provided their BIC code but have elected to make their BIC code private are
excluded from the list.
3.
Entities with more than one BIC code appear more than once on the spreadsheet.
4.
Only information which is publicly available on the companies register and NZBN register is included
in the file.
Some personal information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the privacy of
natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons.
I do not consider that the withholding of this information is outweighed by public interest considerations
in making the information available.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, or if you require any further assistance,
please contact
[email address].
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information
