Dear Al
Official Information Act request relating to review of domestic vaccine passes
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 3 July 2023.
You requested:
Could I please be provided the background documents and associated consultation
that made up the review led by DPMC on the use of My Vaccine Pass in 2022.
The review led to the Cabinet documents called "The COVID-19 Response for Post-
peak Omicron" and also a document called "COVID-19 PROTECTION FRAMEWORK:
REVIEW" - which are publicly available and I am not requesting those documents.“”
On 1 August 2023, we wrote to you to advise we have extended the time needed to respond
to your request to facilitate consultations required to make a decision. Following this
extension, I am now able to respond.
As you will be aware, the nature and intensity of the pandemic required officials and decision
makers to operate and respond within an unprecedented timeframe. Reviews, once
commissioned, may have incorporated existing information, or their outcomes may have
informed a relevant Cabinet document.
After conducting substantial enquires, we can confirm that the publicly available material
provides a summary of the outcomes of the review and no record of all material considered
in the review is available. Accordingly, your request for information is declined under section
18(e) of the Act.
This response wil be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s
website during our regular publication cycle. Typically, information is released monthly, or as
otherwise determined. Your personal information including name and contact details will be
removed for publication.
