Tēnā koe Ankur,
Thank you for your email of 17 June 2023 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
the following information:
“I am writing to inquire about the number of Expressions of Interest (EOI) and applicants that
have been lodged for the upcoming ballot.
1) Specifically, I would like to obtain information regarding the total number of EOIs and
applicants received since the announcement of the ballot system.
2) Furthermore, I am eager to know the scheduled date for the first draw from the ballot. It would
be greatly appreciated if you could provide me with the exact date on which the first draw is
planned to take place.
3) Additionally, I would like to be informed about the dates for subsequent draws from the ballot,
if possible.”
Our Response
Question one:
As at 5 July 2023, the total number of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) submitted for the Parent Resident
Visa category, since 12 October 2022, is 3,359, and these EOIs contain 5,093 applicants.
Question two:
The first draw of EOIs for Parent Resident Visa category is planned to take place on 8 August 2023.
Question three:
The EOI draw for the Parent Resident Visa category will take place quarterly. That is the second
Tuesday of February, May, August, and November. For more information regarding Parent Resident
