Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to Manatū Hauora 
(the Ministry of Health) on 12 June 2023. You requested:  
 
“Please provide a list of the hospital buildings throughout NZ that contain 
Medical emergency facilities or 
surgical facilities or 
national reserve stockpiles or 
emergency generators and other such facilities required for the above facilities to remain 
operating after a seismic event 
along with the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last assessment, and the type 
of seismic assessment completed. 
Also each building that is currently identified as the building intended/likely to be used as 
an EOC by the relevant health authority after a seismic event. 
Please provide the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last assessment, and the 
type of seismic assessment completed. 
Alternately if you do not hold/cannot provide the above please provide the last seismic 
assessment for the buildings identified above.”  
The requested information is more closely connected to the functions of Te Whatu Ora – Health
