Ms Ria Earp
Chair of Te Roopū Māori
Via email: [email address]
Dear Ria
I would like to invite you to attend the open sessions of every Board meeting.
Following the discussions we had at the July 2018 Board meeting, and the value you brought
to these, the Board agreed that both yourself and Rowena Lewis, Chair of the Consumer
Advisory Group to the Board, should be invited to attend all future Health Quality & Safety
Commission Board meetings on a regular basis. The consumer and cultural perspectives
that you bring will be of assitance to us in our discussions and decision making.
The full Te Roopū Māori will still be invited to meet with the Board at least once a year and
up to twice a year.
If you are able to accept this, we will amend your terms of appointment to reflect this new
approach.
The Board meets five times a year and attached is the Board meeting calendar for 2018 and
2019. As you can see the next Board meeting is being held at the Commission office in
Wellington and is scheduled for 29 and 30 November 2018.
Diane de Rochester, EA to the Board, will send you Outlook invitations through to the end of
next year.
Yours sincerely
Prof Alan Merry ONZM FRSNZ
