I  refer  to  your  official  request  of  6  June  2023 for  information regarding  your  ratepayer money 
being  used  to  pay  the  account  for  workplace  bullying.  Accordingly,  we  can  confirm  that  the 
Employment Relations Authority determination of 24 November 2022 ordered the Waimakariri 
District  Council  to  pay  $88,000  to  a  previous  staff  member.  The  fine  was  paid  from  Council 
revenue, primarily derived from rates collected in terms of the provisions of the Local Government 
(Rating) Act 2002.
