Request for information 2023-133 
I refer to your request for information dated 22 May 2023 which was received by Greater Wellington 
Regional Council (Greater Wellington) on 22 May 2023. You have requested the following: 
“May I have a copy of the content of all odour complaints made in relation to Interwaste's Hazardous 
Waste Plant located at 12 Broken Hill Road in Porirua, Wellington for the previous 1 (one) year from 
the date of this request (22/05/23). 
May I also be provided with the corresponding transaction numbers, action codes and the content of 
these action codes that show the councils response.” 
Greater Wellington’s response follows: 
A  copy  of  odour  complaints  made  from  22  May  2022  until  22  May  2023  has  been  provided  as 
Attachment One. 
A copy of correspondence showing Greater Wellington’s actions in response to odour complaints 
made over this same time period has been provided as Attachment Two. 
We have withheld personal identifying information in both Attachments One and Two under section 
7(2)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) in order to 
protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons. 
This  information  has  been  withheld  under  section  7(2)(a)  of  the  Local  Government  Official 
Information and Meetings Act 1987 to protect the privacy of natural persons. 
We have considered whether the public interest in the requested information  outweighs Greater 
Wellington’s  need  to  withhold  certain  aspects  of  the  request  information  but  conclude  that  the 
public interest does not outweigh the Greater Wellington’s need for withholding this information.
