Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 9 May 2023, in which 
you requested: 
I would like an extract of the annual amount spent with all suppliers for the 
2021/2022 financial year. 
I would like this data in an open format, csv or json formats would be suitable. 
I would like the following details provided: 
- Supplier Name
- Suppliers NZBN number (if available)
- Total Amount Spent
Please provide the GST Exclusive amount spent. 
The annual amount spent by Police on suppliers for the 2021/2022 financial year was 
$619,846,404.89. The attached Excel spreadsheet provides you with a list of the 
suppliers for the 2021/2022 financial year. 
Your request appeared to seek the amounts paid by Police to each supplier. Police is 
refusing this part of your request pursuant to section 18(f) of the OIA, as the information 
cannot be made available without substantial collation and research. Although the 
information is collated, Police is unable to release the information without researching 
whether confidentiality restrictions (such as contract price) exist, would have a significant 
and unreasonable impact on Police’s operations. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
