Official Information Act request for details of the NZ delegation to London in May 
2023 
 
Thank  you  for  your  Official  Information  Act  request  received  on  9  May  2023.  You 
requested: 
 
“I would like to make the following freedom of information requests 
1.  list of the entire delegation accompanying the prime minister to london in 
may 2023  
2.  list of the entire delegation accompanying the governor general to london 
in may 2023  
3.  number  of  rooms  booked  at  the  trafalgar  st  james  hotel  for  the 
delegations.” 
In  a  letter  dated  15  May  2023,  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and  Cabinet 
(DPMC) transferred under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act part one of your request to the 
Prime  Minister,  Rt  Hon  Chris  Hipkins  for  response.  DPMC  is  responding  to  the 
remainder of your request.  
We have interpreted your request to be for the delegation accompanying the Governor 
General to London in May 2023 including the Governor General’s staff but does not 
include the five invited guests who attended the Coronation of King Charles III. 
The following individuals accompanied the Governor General to London in May 2023: 
His Excellency Dr Richard Davies, The Official Secretary, an Aide de Camp, and two 
Diplomatic Protection Officers.  
Regarding the second part of your request, five rooms were booked for the Governor 
General and six rooms for the Prime Minister at the Trafalgar Street James Hotel in 
London.
