Dear Kalan

Request made under the Official Information Act 1982

Thank you for your email of 3 May 2023 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):

I would like to know the difference between what the agency receives in clean car tax vs what
is paid in rebates.

This information was recently provided by Hon Michael Wood, Minister of Transport in response to two
written parliamentary questions received on 3 May 2023, question numbers 13245 (2023) and 13246
(2023). The responses to each of these questions can be found on the New Zealand Parliament
website at: www.parliament.nz/en/pb/order-paper-questions/written-questions/.

I am therefore declining you request under section 18(d) of the Act as the information requested is
publicly available.

Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.

If you would like to discuss this reply with Waka Kotahi, please contact Ministerial Services by email to
[NZTA request email]

Yours sincerely
