Thank  you  for  your  information  request  dated  2  May  2023.  You  asked  for  the  following 
information:  
 
“I would like an extract of the annual amount spent with all suppliers for the 2021/2022 
financial year. 
I would like this data in an open format, csv or json formats would be suitable. 
I would like the following details provided: 
- Supplier Name 
- Suppliers NZBN number (if available) 
- Total Amount Spent”. 
 
 
On Tuesday 9 May, you requested that we provide GST exclusive amounts. 
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 
(the Act). 
 
Please  find  attached  Appendix  A,  the  Te  Puni  Kōkiri  departmental  expenditure  for 
vendors for 2021/22. 
 
Providing the NZBN number for each supplier would require creation of new information 
by extracting and matching the NZBN’s with existing data. The Act does not create an 
obligation for agencies to create new information, and therefore I consider this part of 
your request relating to the suppliers’ NZBN number to be outside the scope of the Act. 
This information is available on the New Zealand Companies Register at 
https://companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/.
