Your request has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (‘OIA’).
You requested the following:
Thank you for your recent OIA reply,- OIAD-2806 dated 13 March 2023.
I noted, "The appointment process wil be completed by 30 June 2023." May I kindly
seek an update on these appointment process as where they are at, how many you
have shortlisted and interviewed for each of the list positions. Also, how many
positions per each list authority you are intend to appoint.
Nature Heritage Fund Committee
Queen Elizabeth II National Trust Board of Directors
Game Animal Council
New Zealand Conservation Authority
I have decided to withhold most of the information you are seeking, pursuant to section
9(2)(f)(iv) of the OIA,
to maintain the constitutional conventions for the time being which
protect the confidentiality of advice tendered by Ministers of the Crown and officials.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of
the OIA and determined there are no public interests which outweigh the grounds for
withholding.
However, I can advise that the matters you outline are making progress through the
necessary steps. In relation to shortlisting and intended appointments, I can confirm the
following details:
• Nature Heritage Fund Commit ee - six short-listed with the intention of appointing four
• Queen Elizabeth II National Trust Board of Directors - four short-listed with the
intention of appointing four
• Game Animal Council - five short-listed with the intention of appointing five
• New Zealand Conservation Authority - five short-listed with the intention of appointing
two.
