OIA 22-23-55: GM Investment travel 
 
Thank you for your email of 1 May 2023 to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), making 
a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You requested the following 
information: 
 
1.  Please provide dates and locations of the GM Investment's work related travel since 1 
January 2021; 
-  internationally 
-  domestically for external hui, wananga, conferences, workshops and events 
-  domestically for internal day-long or multi-day conferences, hui, wananga, conferences, 
workshops and events 
 
2.  How many status points has the GM Investment accrued since 1 January on tax-payer 
funded travel?  
 
Answers to your questions are as follows/Please find attached a response to your request.  
 1.  Please find the GM Investment's work-related travel since 1 January 2021 attached as 
Appendix One. Please note that data is as accurate as possible but due to the changing 
nature of travel plans there may be some discrepancies. Please also note that this data 
only includes data booked through NZTE’s travel system and doesn’t include any travel 
that the GM of Investment has undertaken for other entities. Apart from the primary reason 
for travel, it is likely that other meetings and events took places at the same time.  
 
2.  NZTE cannot provide the summary of air points collected for any of its employees. This 
information is only accessible to the individual air points member. NZTE’s Fine Print policy 
notes NZTE does not pay for air points membership however if an employee is required to 
travel frequently in their role, then NZTE may pay for their membership, this is decided on 
a case by case basis and in line with NZTEs Fine Print Policy. NZTE employees are 
allowed to keep air points.  
 
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to seek an investigation and review by the
