OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
I refer to your official information request of 29 April 2023 for:
How many employees currently have a qualification in gender studies.
Manutū Wāhine Ministry for Women staff come from diverse backgrounds and experiences,
and therefore bring a range of knowledge and skills with them, gained through a number of
ways which include but are not limited to tertiary education.
However, we have decided to refuse your request under section 18(g)(i) of the Official
Information Act, on that basis that the Ministry does not hold the information you have
requested.
The reason for this is that while we receive some information about our employees’
qualifications at the time they apply for a role at the Ministry, we do not keep full, centralised
records of those qualifications. We also do not capture qualifications that employees may
obtain while they are already working at Ministry.
Please note that this response, with your personal details redacted, may be published on the
Ministry’s website. If you have any concerns or comments related to this, please let us know
by emailing
[email address], within two weeks of the date of this letter.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz
or freephone 0800 802 602.
