Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-024709
Thank you for your email of 27 April 2023, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I would like an extract of the annual amount spent with all suppliers for the 2021/2022 financial
year. I would like this data in an open format, csv or json formats would be suitable. I would like the following details provided: - Supplier Name - Suppliers NZBN number (if available) - Total Amount Spent I believe this information would be readily available via an extract from your Accounts Payable
system. I have already received similar data from a number of Government organisations, which
implies this information can be treated as open data.
Please provide the GST Exclusive amounts.
The requested information is attached to this letter as Appendix 1 The data provided is from July 2021 to June 2022.
We have provided operational expenses only. To protect individual privacy, we have not provided expenses
paid to suppliers at claim-level, as many of those payments were made to individual people. Some of which
could be reimbursements to clients, or family or friends of our clients being paid for services like home
help. In doing so, we have considered the public interest in making the information available and have
determined that it does not outweigh the need to protect the privacy of these individuals. This decision is
made under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. We have also withheld the names of individuals/contractors in the
data set to protect their privacy. A list of contractors engaged by ACC is publicly available, here:
www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/submissions-and-
advice/document/53SCEW_EVI_129928_EW9692/accident-compensation-corporation-appendices-1-12. We do not hold the NZBN for every supplier who might have one. Therefore, we have only supplied the
NZBNs that we have recorded in our systems. Additional numbers can be retrieved from the New Zealand
Companies Register, here: www.companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz.
