what platform you have call for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many
applications you have received from the public and how many you have received from other
government nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc. The pay rate for its
member, and may I kindly request the full meeting minutes since it’s establishment.”

In May 2022, the Government established the Startup Advisors Council (the Council) for a 12-month
term to support greater alignment of government interventions to develop New Zealand’s startup
ecosystem, enabling more targeted policies to address areas of greatest need.
The Council is classified as a Group 4 Level 3 body under the Cabinet Fees Framework. The Ministry of
Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) provides the Secretariat role to the Council. Please refer

The Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee selected Council members upon MBIE’s
recommendation based on their relevant experiences, skil s sets, and ability to provide valuable insights
into the chal enges and opportunities that New Zealand’s startup community is facing.
Te Puni Kokiri and the Ministry for Women were both consulted during the establishment of the Startup
Advisors Council.

Members are responsible for paying all Inland Revenue payments, other taxes, and Accident
Compensation Corporation levies in respect of remuneration and disbursements. Members
representing government agencies or Crown entities are appointed in their capacity as representatives
and are not entitled to any additional remuneration. The daily remuneration for all others are claimed in
accordance with Cabinet Office instructions.
Details on the fees are provided in the publicly available
DPMC fees framework document dated 6
October 2022 on page 30: a daily fee for the Chair is $308 - $633 and members $226 - $435. A daily fee
is payable when the Council meets in person.
