Thank you for your email of 27 March 2023 in which you request the following under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
“Al  communications including but not limited to, emails, texts, and phone calls with 
Chris Hipkins or his office and staff regarding up coming travel, plans to travel, travel 
strategy or travel expectations from November 2022 through to 27th March 2023.” 
 
On 28 April 2023, you were advised of an extension to the deadline to respond to your request 
to 25 May 2023. 
 
Attached  are  the  documents relevant  to  your request.  Some  portions  of  the  documents  are 
withheld under the following sections of the OIA:   
 
• 
6(a):  to  avoid  prejudicing  the  security  or  defence  of  New  Zealand  or  the  international 
relations of the New Zealand Government; and 
• 
9(2)(f)(iv): to protect the confidentiality of advice tendered by Ministers of the Crown and 
officials. 
 
Where  the  information  has  been  withheld  under  section  9  of  the  OIA,  no  public  interest  in 
releasing the information has been identified that would override the reasons for withholding 
it.
