[FYI request #22256 email]
Dear Harry
Request for information
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 25 March 2023. You
requested:
I am writing to request information about the amount of police resource that
was required for the Posie Parker events in both Auckland and Wel ington
(25th and 26th March 2023) and the estimated cost of each of these events.
There were 33 police officers deployed at the Albert Park location for the Posie Parker
event. This was made up of 15 police officers deployed to Albert Park who were
supported by an extra 18 staff as the situation began to deteriorate. There were also two
Police photographers working at the Albert Park location.
Your request for the estimated cost of the Posie Parker Event in Auckland has been
declined under s18(f) as the information requested cannot be made available without
substantial collation or research.
The Wellington based event was cancel ed and therefore, your request for the estimated
cost of the Wellington event has been refused under s18(e) of the OIA, that the document
alleged to contain the information requested does not exist.
Please note that as part of its commitment to openness and transparency, Police
proactively releases some information and documents that may be of interest to the
public. An anonymised version of this response may be publicly released on the New
Zealand Police website.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
