Official Information Act (OIA) request: Annual amount spent with all suppliers Thank you for your email dated 24 March 2023, in which you requested the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

I would like an extract of the annual amount spent with all suppliers for the
2021/2022 financial year.
I would like this data in an open format, csv or json formats would be suitable.
I would like the following details provided:
- Supplier Name
- Suppliers NZBN number (if available)
- Total Amount Spent
I believe this information would be readily available via an extract from your Accounts
Payable system.
On 4 April 2023, we discussed via email the context of your request and the type of
information available at Stats NZ relating to your specific interest. In that discussion, we
confirmed:
• Stats NZ is able to obtain the GST exclusive total amount of all purchases from
suppliers from our general ledger and provide these in the format you’ve requested.
• Obtaining the GST inclusive expenditure is not easily extracted from our systems.
• Providing the GST exclusive total amount per supplier would be acceptable for your
purposes.
We appreciate your open discussion to clarify this request. Your request has been processed
under the Act, and a copy of the requested information is attached to this letter in csv format.
Please note that we have excluded employee expense claims and payments for our Stats NZ
Mastercard transactions, as these are not considered ‘suppliers’.
