Tēnā koe John,
Official Information Act 1982 request dated 6 March 2023 (Ref OIA2223-0612)
Thank you for your request on fyi.org.nz dated 6 March 2023 requesting the fol owing
information from Te Tari Taiwhenua | Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua)
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“Can you please let me know what is the usual timeframe of publishing. Given this
paper was noted on 18 Oct 2022, nearly half year was gone. The latest update you
have is, which is very much behind schedule. 2022 appointments Appointment to Fire
and Emergency New Zealand Board (August 2022) Also, may I request who manage
this (DIA Appointments to statutory bodies) page and when did you last update it.”
Response to your request
Te Tari Taiwhenua appreciates your input on the publishing of newly appointed or
reappointed board members to the Appointments to statutory bodies page on the Te Tari
Taiwhenua | Department of Internal Affairs website (www.dia.govt.nz).
Te Tari Taiwhenua does not have a usual timeframe for updating the page, as appointments
and calls for nominations are made sporadically. The information on the Appointments to
statutory bodies page is managed by the Monitoring and Appointments team, while the
page itself is maintained by the Communications Team.
The page has not been updated since October 2022. There have been some appointments
made since then, including two new members of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand
Board. Te Tari Taiwhenua is currently reviewing the level of information provided about
appointees to simplify the page. We wil be updating this section of the page shortly. The
intention is for appointments to be posted on the page within 3 weeks of the appointment
being confirmed.
If you are dissatisfied with Te Tari Taiwhenua’s decision on your request, you have the right
under section 28 of the Act to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman. The Office
of the Ombudsman can be contacted by phone on 0800 802 602, via post at PO Box 10152
Wellington or via email to
[email address].
Naku noa, nā
